The original Apple iPod portable media players went through five generations until the sixth was introduced in 2007. At that time the line was retro-named “classic”. All generations of iPod Classic use a 1.8 inch hard drive for storage. In September 2008 a new anodized aluminum front plate was offered instead of plastic. The thinner 120 GB model replaced the 80 and 160, which are no longer available. Find new and used iPod classics.
